To Kill A Mockingbird - Atticus, Jem, Dill, & Scout

Now that you are almost through reading Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird," reflect back on the characters in the book.

Below are four worksheets.  Read and follow the directions in each one.  You will find that they are all very similar.  Use the framework to answer the questions concerning each character.  Email your observations to me.  Separate your answers  using the four headings (one in each of the bubbles in the organizer):  Characteristics/Qualities, Talents/Physical Attributes, Feelings/Emotions, and Values/Ethical Principles.

Algebra 2 Chapter 6.5 Solving Square Root and other Radical Equations

The student will solve square root and other radical equations

TN SPI 3103.13

Solve contextual problems using quadratic, rational, radical, and exponential equations, finite geometric series or systems of equations.

Read pages 390 to 394 paying special attention to example problems 1-5.

Work and check problems [9-19; 35-38; 46] p.395

External video link:  Yay Math! Solving Radical Equations.

I'll process and post my example problems later in the day.

Algebra 2 Chapter 6.4 Rational Exponents

Students will simplify expressions with rational exponents, ie. fractional exponents.

TN SPI 3103.3.3

Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and simplify rational expressions including those with rational and negative exponents.

Read pages 381 - 388 paying attention to the example problems 1 through 6.
Work [10-26; 39-44; 55-58; 79-82]

part 2

Algebra 2 Chapter 5.4 Polynomial Division

Students will divide polynomials using long division

TN SPI 3103.3.1

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide a larger polynomial by a smaller one.

Read pages 303 - 307 paying attention to the example problems 1- 4.

Work [13-16; 21-23; 42] starting on page 308

part 1  (I'm uploading lower quality videos for now- and I can't check the finished product while at work.  If they aren't usable, I'll upload the better videos later tonight from home if needed.)

Continuing Algebra 2 Chapter 6.6

Chapter 6.6 Function Operations

Student will add, subtract, multiply, and divide functions. Student will find the composition of two functions.

TN SPI 3103.3.6

Combine functions (such as polynomial, rational, radical, and absolute value expressions) by addition, subtraction, mult., and division, or by composition and evaluate at specified values of their variables.

Yesterday we added, subtracted, mult., and divided functions. Today we will begin to learn how to evaluate compositions of two functions.
